Love Almost Lost

You
came into my life in such a way
That you changed my world with mere words you say
Your ideas are profound and your words so unique
Such wonderful pictures when I hear you speak
I found myself filled with intrigue and fascination
With the masterful way you could lead my imagination
Your picture, your voice, your name on my mind
Over and over now they're a great joy that I find
You entered my life while I was least expecting it
And soon realized you're the part that's perfecting it
For we both have goals, desires and ambition
And we both believe in love without condition
So why is it at first I tried to deny my emotion
At the time it didn't seem like such a crazy notion
Because I knew it had never been this way for me
I didn't realize what it was like to truly be free
You look beyond my appearance and see me true
Such a rare thing to find but I found it in you
You accept my past and my life's elation
And we laugh and enjoy such wonderful conversation
I am so glad that I hadn't the heart to let you go
And I listened to that voice that told me so
I know now to hang on to you at whatever cost
So grateful to keep you a love almost lost
